10% of Olive Oil sales this month to be donated to Vancouver Hospice Society

March 12, 2009

I did an olive oil tasting for the very lovely people of Vancouver Coastal Health this morning as part of their nutrition month efforts. As I was on my way there I decided it would be nice to contribute to their hard-work somehow. They work closely with the Vancouver Hospice Society, so 10% of all Renato Fenocchio Olive Oil sales this month will be donated to the hospice society. I tweeted about it this morning, planning on just donating today's 10%, but we've already sold 9 bottles so far (at an average price of $40 after quantity discounts) which is $36 dollars for Hospice. I want to give them at least $100- they do really great work from bereavement walking programs to their efforts to build a holistic hospice in Vancouver. They have a hard time raising money because they don't have fluffy animals or pictures of cute kids, so let's lend a hand. If you haven't ever known someone who died, you at least know someone who will. The Vancouver Hospice Society works to make sure that we all get a chance to live well while we can.

Support a charity that all of us may need oneday and enjoy an olive oil that The Globe and Mail raves about, "Every so often, you come across a taste that can elicit nothing other than "wow."

UPDATE: We are now up to a dozen bottles and $50 for Hospice. Halfway there!
